The Good Place's Jameela Jamil famously had no acting experience before she landed the role of Tahani, and it seems like that's a pattern for her. On Thursday night's episode of Conan, Jamil hilariously recounted how she got hired as the DJ for Elton John's birthday party eight years ago — despite having no clue how to DJ at the time.
"I got talking to the woman who was running [an event Jamil attended] ... and she said 'Do you DJ'?" recalled the actor. "And I was like, because I'm a sociopath, 'Yes I do.'"
Jamil told O'Brien she was attracted to the idea because DJs choose the music and don't have to talk to anyone. However, she wasn't expecting her on-the-spot résumé rework to prompt a job offer. Read more...
