Apple's included one of its Lighting-to-USB connectors with every iPhone and iPad for the past seven-ish years, and that's seven-ish years too long.
It's not just that the thin cable breaks and frays easily, but at 3-feet long, it's simply too short for practical use. Plugging in a device to charge makes one feel like a leashed kid at the mall: You'd have the whole world at your fingertips if it weren't for that pesky cord.
Misplacing one almost feels like a blessing, because then you at least have an excuse to shop around for a different model — say, this 3-pack of cables from the Mashable Shop.
