Watch Dr. Birx react as Trump suggests injecting disinfectant to fight coronavirus

President Donald Trump —  and this is not a joke —  legitimately floated the idea of injecting people with disinfectant to fight the coronavirus.

"I see the disinfectant where it knocks [the coronavirus] out in a minute, one minute," Trump said during the White House’s daily coronavirus briefing on Thursday. "And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets in the lungs, and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it’d be interesting to check that."

As the president suggested that idea — as well as using a "very powerful light" — cameras caught the dazed reaction of coronavirus task force member Dr. Deborah Birx. Watch for yourself, but her eyes seem to shout, "What in the world is going on?"  Read more...
