Parents with kids who are off of school for the foreseeable future are probably facing the same conundrum: How to keep them from going stir-crazy while also keeping them relatively on track with learning and schoolwork.
Many parents who have their own work to do from home can't take hours out of their day for makeshift homeschooling. Social distancing rules make inviting a tutor to the house a hard "no."
Enter: STEM toys. This increasingly popular method of teaching uses playing (the thing that kids want to be doing anyway) to foster an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. Researchers at the Joan Ganz Cooney Center discovered that kids are a hell of a lot more excited to learn when they get to use a fun touchscreen or a toy to do so.
